Jay Anderson is in his second year of service as Superintendent of Horizon Christian Schools after serving his first year with us as Assistant Superintendent.
Prior to coming to Horizon he was involved in youth and associate ministry, serving local churches in Salem, Tualatin and Dallas. Jay served as the District Youth Director for the Oregon Ministry Network (Assemblies of God) for over ten years, developing and directing youth camps, conventions, fine arts festivals and missions trips. This position also entailed leadership and resource development for both students and youth leaders.
Jay received his BA from Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington with a specialized degree in Youth Ministries. He earned his MA from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary with a focus in Christian Ministries and Leadership. He is also an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God.
Jay and his wife Stacie recently celebrated 19 years of marriage together. They have two boys, Kyle and Calvin, who both attend Horizon Christian High School.
Jay loves watching his boys play basketball and watching college football. He loves to teach and preach but especially loves to write. After telling his boys frontier stories and his wife love stories for years, he has put many of these on paper and is hoping to eventually see some of them published. Regardless, he plans to continue telling stories! Playing golf and enjoying the great outdoors and travel fit in somewhere, as do his two miniature dachshunds, Max and Duke.
