Recreational Sports: Mr. Holland’s class will gather in the commons and then head outdoors. You’ll have the opportunity to play a variety of sports such as Ultimate Frisbee, Flag Football and Basketball for some extra exercise at the end of the week. Alternate activities will be scheduled indoors in Room 211 when the weather is wet. (18 students max.)
Digital Still Photography: Mr. Mudder - Room M-1. Learn how to use a digital camera, compose interesting pictures and use various modes and features of the camera. You’ll also learn how to use Photoshop Elements to edit and fix photos to print, e-mail or publish in documents. (12 students max.) Cost: $10 if using a school camera, $5 if using your own.
Spanish: Mrs. Cutler - Room 204. If you enjoyed the Spanish wheel class and want to keep learning this language, come join the fun! We will be working on Aztec codices, more verb conjugations, and a movie/salsa party! (To be in the class, you must have taken Spanish with Mrs. Cutler once before)
Girls’ Prayer Group: Ms. Smith – This group will meet in the library. Join this student-led time of devotions and Biblical answers to life’s questions. Support one another and our community through prayer.
Student Leadership: Mrs. Ransdell - Room 206. This elective is for the students who have been elected to Student Council.
Fun Arts & Crafts: Mrs. Bristol - Room M-2. Come and learn how to design and create some fun and unique crafts to enjoy and give as gifts. No prior experience required. (12 students max.) Cost: $15
Study Hall: Mrs. Phillips - Room M-4. If you want to get a jump-start on your weekend’s homework or get some help with a specific assignment, this elective is for you. (15 students max.)
Bible Bee: Mrs. Parr – Room M-3. This elective is for those who would enjoy studying God’s Word and possibly participate in the Bible Bee competition held on December 17 during lunch at Horizon Christian. The two top scorers from 7th grade and the two top scorers from 8th grade will be eligible to attend the District meet in February.
